These vivid and colossal murals (aprox. 2mby 3 m) testify to the skill of the Alicante poster artist, A. Borja.

They were all produced by hand at the beginning of the 1960s as cinema facade publicity, at a time when a different feature was run almost every night and only the big successes stayed longer.

Each poster was displayed above the doors of the cinema without floodlights, so it needed to be bright enough to be seen at night from the other side of a town square.

Each spectacular work was carried out in poster paint on thick paper joined in two or three places.

According to a surviving cinema owner from Alicante, Spain, the artist worked using projections of film stars from regular publicity. He finished each poster in under one and a half hours. That was his job. He worked under licence from the distributors operating then in Spain, and for each mural he was paid around 100 pesetas, less than one dollar.

Each poster is rolled and fairly fragile.

Condition is generally very good. (Customers will be advised of all condition details before ordering a mural).

Directors were not generally mentioned on these murals. Only the title and the stars were highlighted.
